Warm breakfast in winter

Huang Xiaoqin, a resident of Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province has been offering free breakfast to sanitation workers over the past six years.

Huang and her husband Wang Xueming, owners of a bar in Beilun district, were busy preparing breakfast at 4:00 am on Oct 26.

"Today is Sanitation Workers' Day. I want to celebrate by paying tribute to the city cleaners," said Huang.

"Free breakfasts are provided on Oct 26." These words are on loop on the screen outside Huang's bar. Huang also asked the local community staff to tell as many sanitation workers as they could.

To make sure every worker received a hot breakfast, Wang toiled away in the kitchen nonstop, preparing fresh steamed baozi.

Workers enjoyed the baozi in the bar, while Huang handed them out to those working on the road.

"You can have breakfast at our bar next time," She said.

The couple provides free breakfast to sanitation workers for a month every winter. They have provided more than 12,000 breakfasts over the past six years.

Now, more and more people are joining in to help them.
