In celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) recently released a series of mooncakes designed by four students.
The patterns on the mooncakes feature designs related to Ningbo and the university campus, including camelia (Ningbo's city flower), the university logo, Nottingham duck, and campus landmarks. The UNNC campus scenery during all four seasons of the year is depicted on the package of the mooncakes. Each box contains a card featuring UNNC scenery, which can be used as a bookmark.
The mooncake fillings include lava egg custard and matcha, which were the most popular flavors among students last year. Milk tea and cheese flavors are new creations, based on the results of a questionnaire.
The mooncakes were designed by four seniors in an effort to leave students with positive memories of the school.
The mooncakes will be distributed to students before the Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on Sept 21 this year. They will also be sold online, with all proceeds going to the Zhejiang Provincial Youth Development Foundation.
