In celebration of the upcoming Teachers' Day, a medical team in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province visited Zhenhai Middle School, offering free medical services to teachers and their families on Sept 8.
The team consisted of 22 medical staff, half of whom are alumni of the school and have become leading doctors in hospitals around the city. The medical services they provided included health checks, medication consultation and health guidance.
Zhang Jian, a neurosurgeon and part of the class of 1997 at Zhenhai Middle School, immediately recognized Zhou Yudong, his former teacher, even though they haven't seen each other in nearly 20 years. "It really takes me back when I see Mr Zhou," said Zhang, "it's where we grew into the people we are today. Now it's time for us to give back.”
Zhou said that he was delighted that his students came back to school to provide the services.
Shao Guofeng, chief surgeon at Ningbo Medical Center Lihuili Hospital and part of the class of 1977, also met with his former teacher. "I'm honored to offer services to my teachers. I hope I can serve them more in the future," he said.
