A pattern was recently carved in a vast stretch of rice paddies in Ningbo's Fenghua district to mark the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The pattern, which features a flag and Chinese characters that mean "celebrating the 100th anniversary of the CPC's founding", was created in a 60-mu (4 hectares) rice paddy field in Jiangkou Mailang Farm.
In early June, four varieties of colorful rice were planted by eight farmers. The best time to admire the rice paddy art will last until early November.
Zhu Hailong, who's responsible for Jiangkou Mailang Farm, said that the rice paddy art was done to create a beautiful landscape in the countryside, expressing farmers' wishes for a better future for their country.
