Door-to-door government services are being offered to the elderly and disabled residents as well as enterprises in Zhenhai district in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province.
Wang Yazhen, a 79-year-old resident who lives on Zhaobaoshan Steet in Zhenhai district, set up an appointment at the Zhenhai Government Affairs Service Center via phone on August 10. Soon after, government service volunteers arrived at Wang's home with a coach equipped with office machines. It took no more than an hour for them to satisfy Wang's medical needs.
Wang expressed his satisfaction with the door-to-door services. "I used to spend about an hour on the bus to get to the service center and had to line up before getting served. But now all I need to do is make a phone call and wait.”
The online government-service-coach-hailing service, which covers more than 1,000 government affairs, was created by Zhenhai district to help those with limited mobility or difficulty using digital devices.
The service is provided to enterprises as well. On June 29, volunteers helped over 100 staff at Bros Eastern Co Ltd access social security and medical care applications in the company.
