Evergreen, the world's largest container ship, berthed at the Meishan port area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, one of the world's top container ports, on Aug 3.
Measuring 400 meters in length and 62 meters in width, the vessel can accommodate up to 23,992 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units).
More than 200 ships with a maximum tonnage of 400,000 metric tons have docked at the Ningbo Zhoushan Port.
These ships include the world's largest oil tanker TI Europe and container ship HMM Algeciras, which can carry up to 23,964 containers.
Ningbo Zhoushan Port has been actively promoting the digital upgrading of port operations, with technologies including remote control of bridge cranes and gantry cranes, and intelligent tallying being comprehensively applied.
The port handled more than 1.17 billion metric tons of cargo in 2020, up by more than 4 percent year-on-year and topping the global rankings for the 12th straight year.
The port's container throughput reached 28.72 million TEUs last year, up over 4 percent year-on-year and ranking third globally.
Ningbo and Zhoushan, two cities in East China's Zhejiang province, were ranked 10th among global shipping hubs in terms of comprehensive strength for the first time, according to the recently released Xinhua-Baltic ISCD Index 2021.
