Autumn views in Zhangshui town enchant visitors

Towering ancient trees, gorgeous flowers, wooden trestles, ancient hiking trails... These are all things which perfectly encapsulate autumn in Zhangshui town in Ningbo's Haishu district.

A popular tourism destination in the town is Maohuo Ancient Tree Park.

Located next to Zhougongzhai Reservoir, the park is home to 52 trees that are more than 400 years old, with varieties ranging from the Chinese torreya and ginkgo to the red maple and golden larch. Among them, 27 golden larch trees have been included in a State protection program.

Shizi Rock, or Lion Rock,  is among the best sites in the park to take photos. Visitors are also encouraged to stroll along the mountain trails and take in the stunning natural views.

In addition, a variety of local snacks are available at the park, such as diaohong, a local variety of persimmon, qingtuan, a green glutinous rice-ball dessert, as well as dried bamboo shoots, dates and sweet potatoes.
