The 2020 Ningbo Fashion Festival & 24th Ningbo International Fashion Fair opened in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 22.

Qiu Dongyao, mayor of Ningbo, said at the opening ceremony that the apparel industry is among Ningbo's priority sectors as the city strives to build itself into a renowned fashion hub.

He expressed hope that attendees would participate in the development of the city's fashion industry, pursue common development, and create a bright future.

Other dignitaries who presented at the opening ceremony included Gao Xingfu, vice governor of Zhejiang, Yu jianyong, president of Donghua University, Chen Dapeng, deputy director of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, and Cao Lisheng, deputy head of the China General Chamber of Commerce.

The event also witnessed the signing of a series of cooperation agreements. For example, Donghua University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Ningbo Peacebird Fashion Co Ltd.

The China Contemporary Youth Fashion Research Center was inaugurated at the ceremony as well.

The event is jointly sponsored by the China National Textile and Apparel Council, the Ningbo Municipal People's Government, and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of the Economy and Information Technology.
