Taiwan entrepreneurs seek co-op with Ningbo counterparts
Twenty-six Taiwan entrepreneurs attended a cooperation conference in Ningbo on Sept 11, to introduce their business and discuss cooperation with their counterparts in this city.
Altogether 21 high-tech projects in the fields of smart manufacturing and information communications were introduced by the Taiwan entrepreneurs, such as the cloud platform for public services and the mobile e-commerce.
In particular, the RENSI mobile positioning data platform attracts many Ningbo companies for its capability of analyzing passengers' traveling routes and destinations based on big data, which will provide more value-added services for the car-sharing industry.
The conference is an important part of the 2018 Zhejiang-Taiwan Cooperation Week Ningbo Stop to open on Sept 13, which will see the signing of 12 Taiwan-funded projects in Ningbo.
Ningbo has attached great importance to Taiwan-related affairs in recent years, with over 2,600 Taiwan-funded enterprises approved to settle in the city by the first half of this year, bringing in investment worth nearly 24 billion dollars.
Taiwan is also an important trade partner of Ningbo. Statistics show that Ningbo's imports and exports to Taiwan totaled over 23 billion yuan ($3.35 billion) in the first half of 2018, up 6 percent year-on-year, accounting for 3.1 percent of the city's total imports and exports during the period.
