The construction of the GCL Huidong LNG Receiving Station in Yangkou Port has made significant progress. The two LNG storage tank bodies have been completed, and work is now underway to install low-pressure pumps inside the tanks. The mechanical work is expected to be completed by the end of May, with the project moving into the system integration and testing phase.

This LNG receiving station, the third in Rudong, began construction in September 2022. Currently, over 500 workers are on-site, working on various tasks, including pipeline pressure testing, electrical and instrumentation adjustments, and the application of anti-corrosion and insulation coatings. These final steps are essential to ensure the project's timely completion.

As one of the key peak-shaving and supply bases in the Yangtze River Delta region, the LNG project has a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($688.02 million). The project includes the construction of an LNG unloading terminal, a loading terminal, and two LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters each, as well as the necessary facilities and public utilities.

Upon completion and operation, the station will have an annual processing capacity of 3.5 million metric tons, equivalent to 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Additionally, it will contribute to optimizing the energy consumption structure in the Yangtze River Delta and promote energy conservation and emissions reduction.
