Yangkou Port emerges as key logistics hub, driving economic growth
As a crucial logistics hub, Yangkou Port in Rudong, Nantong, Jiangsu not only provides convenient transportation for nearby industries but also generates significant economic benefits.
Recent data reveals that the liquid bulk cargo terminal at Yangkou Port has surpassed 1 million metric tons in throughput this year, while the PetroChina Jiangsu terminal has received over 1.4 million tons of liquefied natural gas.
In the first two months of this year, industrial sales at Yangkou Port reached 9.88 billion yuan ($1.37 billion), while service sales amounted to 11 billion yuan. Industrial investments were valued at 1.91 billion yuan, and the port's general public budget revenue stood at 253 million yuan.
Yangkou Port is witnessing a rapid rise in industries such as new energy, new materials, and high-end equipment manufacturing. Jiangsu Jiatong Energy Co Ltd , located in the port, has seen a surge in orders, achieving daily production values exceeding 100 million yuan, with total sales reaching 6.44 billion yuan from January to February.
At the construction site of Xingi's ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene project, three factory buildings have been completed, with two workshops commencing trial production.
With a total investment exceeding 4 billion yuan, the project is planned to be completed in two phases. The first phase is expected to produce 20,000 tons of polyethylene fiber annually, generating annual sales revenue of 1 billion yuan. The second phase is projected to have an annual output of 50,000 tons, with estimated annual sales revenue of 200 million yuan.
