The Rudong station of exit and entry frontier inspection has set up an office on Yangguang Island, known as the largest LNG energy island in the country, in a bid to efficiently serve port enterprises.

The police office has adopted a proactive approach to cater to the needs of the island's businesses. Regular tasks include port inspections, information collection, safety risk assessments, and promotion of policies and regulations.

According to Ye Changwen from the office, since the beginning of this year, they have been actively engaging with major enterprises to conduct surveys. This approach helps in collecting opinions and suggestions on existing customs clearance measures, providing crucial firsthand information for improving services.

From January to August, the police office has successfully ensured the safe, efficient and smooth customs clearance of 120 ships. A total of 9.03 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas were unloaded, equivalent to 5.57 billion cubic meters of natural gas — enough to meet the needs of 370 million households for a month.

"Since the border inspection police office was established on the island last year, the police officers regularly visit us to address issues and provide solutions. It has significantly reduced our operational challenges," said Ding Hui, deputy general manager of Jiangsu Yangkou Port Co Ltd.
