NPC deputies, CPPCC members from Nantong attend 2023 two sessions

Eight deputies to the National People's Congress and two members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, attended the annual sessions of the NPC and the CPPCC National Committee, also known as the "two sessions".
All of them brought their own proposals and suggestions to the ongoing annual sessions held in Beijing from March 5 to 13.
Liu Fan, an NPC deputy and director of the Orthopaedic Clinical Research Center at the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, prepared suggestions involving elderly care services, housing security, and scientific and technological innovation.
Li Nannan, an NPC deputy and nursing home paramedic, suggested providing paramedics with allowances and resuming the evaluation system so as to attract and retain more young people.
NPC deputy Sun Chunmei, who owns a farm in Dongshe town, Tongzhou district, made suggestions related to the establishment of a social security system for talent involved in agriculture to support young people who return to rural areas to find a job or start a business.
Liu Hong, a CPPCC member and vice-mayor of Nantong, prepared four proposals involving home-based care for elderly people who live alone, the establishment of an agricultural technology service system, the development of high-quality farmland, and the reform of the advance sale system for houses.
Shi Weidong, a CPPCC member and president of Nantong University, focused on technology, education, the economy, and medical care again this year and has prepared more than 20 proposals.
