The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal – on Yangkou Port's Yangguang island – is understood to have achieved its goal on March 31 of supplying all the natural gas needed to East China during the peak seasons, stretching from last winter to this spring.

During the 151-day period, the terminal – located in Rudong county in East China's Jiangsu province –performed optimally. It received and unloaded 33 tankers carrying a total of 3.1 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas, or LNG and transported 4.31 billion cubic meters of gas, providing heating for 300 million residents.

The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal is the largest of its kind in the Yangtze River Delta region. It currently has six LNG storage tanks, with total tank capacity of 1.08 million cu m.

When operating at full capacity, the terminal can guarantee the gas consumption of 23 million households for one month during peak consumption seasons.

In response to the need for vigilant COVID-19 prevention and control measures, Yangkou Port is said to have established a solid epidemic prevention barrier and effectively guaranteed the safe and orderly operation of the facility.
