Revolutionary driverless delivery vehicle hits Nantong
In the bustling streets of Tongzhou district, Nantong, Jiangsu province, a white mini-vehicle bearing the logo of "Nantong High-Tech Holding Group" cruising without a cockpit caught the attention of passersby.
The vehicle is a cutting-edge driverless car developed through a strategic partnership between the Nantong High-Tech Holding Group and Suzhou Zelos Intelligence Company. The vehicle belongs to Zelo's Z5 series and has a green energy license plate. It has a cargo space of five cubic meters and a top speed of 40 kilometers per hour.
Equipped with four blind spot cameras and a top-mounted radar sensor, the vehicle provides voice prompts for actions like starting, braking, and turning. It also anticipates slowing down at traffic lights, obstacles, and intersections. While driving, the radar swiftly responds in milliseconds and provides high-precision mapping down to the centimeter. Remote monitoring by staff ensures prompt responses to any anomalies, guaranteeing safety.
This driverless logistics vehicle currently being tested at Jiangsu Dashenlin Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Co, marks the company's inaugural use of autonomous delivery vehicles. As a result, Jiangsu Dashenlin has become the first company in Tongzhou to utilize driverless vehicles for logistics distribution.
Jin Honglou, director of the company's logistics center, stated, "Since its introduction, we have only usd the driverless vehicle a handful of times for pharmaceutical deliveries. The most noticeable benefit is the reduction in workload for our employees, significant time savings in deliveries, and cost efficiencies in our operations."
