From January to October, Haimen's ship exports totaled 8.14 billion yuan ($1.15 billion), reflecting a significant growth of 291.4 percent from the previous year.

The region's exports of offshore platforms, polar cruise ships, and car carriers have progressively expanded into the global market, demonstrating Haimen's strong manufacturing capabilities.

On Dec 6, the China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) pier was busy with activity as CM SHEN ZHEN, the domestically built ultra-large dual-fuel ro-ro ship was embarking on its first voyage.

This giant measures 219.9 meters in length and 37.7 meters in width, with the capacity to hold 9,300 standard vehicle spaces. Its power system allows for seamless switching between fuel oil and methanol. Notably, it has three decks designated for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, strategically designed to facilitate the export of new energy vehicles.

Previously, the company's independently built polar expedition cruise ship, Douglas Mawson, set sail from the Haimen base. Designed to carry 170 passengers and 102 crew members, it can navigate both warm waters and icy polar regions.

The impressive performance in ship and offshore engineering exports is a vivid illustration of Haimen's industrial shift toward innovation and excellence.

In addition, from January to October, Haimen also saw double-digit growth in green products like wind turbine units and parts, as well as computer-integrated manufacturing technology.
