From January to September, Haimen district's operating revenue for cultural, sports, and entertainment industries above designated size increased by 23.2 percent compared to the previous year, leading growth across the city.

This stellar performance results from Haimen's bold move away from traditional industries, as it strategically concentrates on four emerging sectors: soccer, e-sports, animation, and film and television.

As the "first gateway" of the Shanghai metropolitan area, Haimen utilizes its geographic and ecological advantages to satisfy the needs of consumers by building a comprehensive, scenario-based and inclusive industrial ecosystem.

Its soccer industry has shifted from manufacturing to competition, with Codion Club training over 160 players for national teams. Its e-sports center, once opened, became a regional landmark in the Yangtze River Delta region, hosting premier tournaments that drew online audiences of over one million for a single event.

In the animation industry, the district has transitioned from primarily hosting events to building a comprehensive ecosystem, with original characters now earning international recognition. The Jiangong Lake film and television base is quickly being developed, with the goal of establishing a complete short-video industry chain.

Haimen also enhances its consumption potential by adopting an "industry + tourism" integrated approach, where events such as e-sports and cultural festivals notably increase hotel stays and dining income.

In early winter, the ripples of Jiangong Lake and the lights of the e-sports center mirror each other, while cheers from soccer fields resonate nearby. This lively mix of innovation, culture, and industry is establishing Haimen as a dynamic hub in the Yangtze River Delta region.
