The 2nd Asian Women's U16 Volleyball Championship concluded in Amman, Jordan on Nov 8. Gu Xixi from Qidong and her teammates fought fiercely through five sets to defeat Japan 3-2, securing third place in the event.

As the team's libero, Gu played a pivotal role in defense, delivering precise serves and remarkable saves under pressure. Her quick reflexes and consistent performance, honed during her training at Yingbang Elementary School in Qidong, proved crucial in stabilizing the team on the international stage.

Gu's volleyball journey began at Yingbang Elementary in 2020, when she first picked up the sport at just 10 years old. Coaches praise her as a talented libero with strong anti-disruption skills and the ability to execute tactical instructions flawlessly.

Her dedication and talent have earned her selection to Chinese Volleyball Association reserve training squad in both 2024 and 2025, highlighting her potential to become a rising star in Chinese volleyball.
