Haimen tourism surges 17% during holiday‌

During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Haimen district received a total of 1.06 million tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.11 percent. Cultural venues such as the libraries, cultural center, museums, and theaters attracted approximately 62,300 visitors, marking a 10.51 percent growth compared to the previous year. 

Yudong Ancient Town hosted a cultural carnival featuring experiences like intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting and traditional DIY crafts. At Dieshiqiao Internacional Home Textile City, an event themed on Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) culture was held, with traditional games such as touhu (arrow throwing) and puzzle-solving drawing over 35,000 visitors. 

The Haimen E-sports Center hosted the E-sports & Cultural Tourism Joyful Festival from Oct 4 to 6, featuring performances by renowned comedy troupes to create a unique experience of watching cross-talk in an e-sports venue. 

Furthermore, during the quarter-final of the Jiangsu Football City League on Oct 7, three second viewing venues for the match in Haimen attracted approximately 1,000 spectators, drawing nearly 50,000 visitors to three major malls that day. Throughout the holiday, the total sales of the five major commercial complexes exceeded 62 million yuan ($8.69 million), achieving a year-on-year growth of 19.2 percent.
