Celebrate National Day in Tongzhou
A historic and cultural block on Xidajie (West Street) in Shigang town, Tongzhou, is gearing up for an exciting array of festivities to celebrate the National Day on Oct 1.

A series of splendid performances, including the jinghu (a two-stringed Chinese fiddle used primarily in Beijing opera), magic shows, and street dance, will be staged one after another.
Additionally, mobile performances such as acrobatics, face-changing, and neo-Chinese fashion shows will allow for close interactions with visitors.

An intangible cultural heritage (ICH) market will offer a variety of treats, from fermented bean curd to dried tofu, from pork head meat to flower-flavored liquor, from sanzi (fried dough twists) to crispy biscuits.

Multiple stalls will showcase various ICH crafts, including tie-dyeing, blue calico printing, lacquer fans, redwood carving, and bonsai. On-site, experienced craftsmen will guide visitors in a series of hands-on activities, giving them the chance to try these traditional crafts for themselves.
