With a planned investment of approximately $500 million, the Cargill Food Supply Chain and Integrated Processing Industrial Park commenced construction in Haimen Economic and Technological Development Zone on Sept 12. 

Headquartered in Minnesota, the United States, Cargill is the world's largest manufacturer of animal nutrition and agricultural products. Since establishing a presence in Nantong in 2004, it has evolved from a single-business operation to a diversified enterprise, becoming a key grain and oil production base serving regional area. 

The newly launched project is a major initiative by Cargill to align with the strategic transportation infrastructure development of the Yangtze River Delta region and further optimize its regional layout. It is expected to become Cargill's global production base and feature the most extensive product lines and widest variety of offerings among any of the company's bases.
