Nantong's first dessert festival sweetly kicks off
Nantong's inaugural dessert festival commenced on May 17 at the Chongchuan MixC, featuring over 100 specialty dessert stalls from across the country and attracting tens of thousands of visitors.
The outdoor plaza of MixC was transformed into a delightful "sweet paradise", offering a selection of treats, including handmade ice cream, French crepes, freshly baked bread, and creative sweet soups, all designed to engage and satisfy the taste preferences of attendees.
The festival also introduced various formats, including food trucks and culinary workshops. Over 80 percent of the participating brands represented specialties from other cities, with 60 percent making their debut in Nantong. The event increased the mall's daily footfall by 50 percent compared to the prior year.
Wang Duoduo, founder of JennyPancakes, a Wuxi-based crepe brand, expressed her appreciation for the vibrant atmosphere and the warm reception from the local community, indicating a strong interest in future participation in similar events.
Looking ahead, Nantong plans to continue introducing diverse and creative exhibitions to enhance urban consumption experiences.
