May Day holiday brings vibrant consumer market to Rugao

During the May Day holiday, Rugao's consumer market flourished with a deep integration of culture, tourism, and commerce, seeing robust spending activity.
Sales across major commercial complexes in the city reached a total of 45.8 million yuan ($6.32 million), and the city welcomed 354,000 visitors during this period.
To further boost consumption, the city's commerce bureau, in collaboration with the finance department, invested 5 million yuan in consumption promotion funds, launching campaigns like old-for-new home appliance trades and car purchase subsidies.
Commercial complexes in the city attracted a large number of consumers by hosting a variety of exhibitions and activities and offering an array of promotions.
Rural leisure tourism has also gained momentum, led by Pingyuanchi village. The village welcomed about 70,000 visitors, offering activities such as horseback riding, go-karting, fishing, and camping. In the countryside, visitors were able to enjoy picturesque pastoral landscapes while experiencing unique thrills and excitement.
The total box office revenue in Rugao reached 764,500 yuan during the holiday.
