Hai'an's Xinlai New Energy 100MW/200MWh grid-side independent energy storage station, developed by Xinlai New Energy, a subsidiary of CITIC Pacific, is set to be connected to the grid by the end of June.

The project, which commenced construction on March 21, represents a significant investment of 500 million yuan ($68.53 million). Once operational, it is expected to provide over 100 million kWh of peak-shaving electricity annually, reducing peak load gaps by 80,000 kW and significantly enhancing the stability of the Jiangsu power grid. This marks another step forward for Hai'an in achieving its green and innovation-driven development goals.

Project manager Xu Shu described the station as a "superpower bank" for the Jiangsu grid, capable of storing excess electricity when demand is low and releasing it when demand peaks.

Utilizing globally advanced liquid-cooled energy storage technology, the facility offers millisecond-level response speeds. Upon completion, it will serve all wind and solar power enterprises in Hai'an's Binhai New Area and provide stable green electricity for industrial manufacturing projects.

As a model for green development, Binhai New Area continues to build a low-carbon industrial chain, leveraging its coastal resource advantages. With offshore wind farms and distributed solar power plants already in place, the new energy storage project will further strengthen the area's ability to attract green energy investments.
