Five major projects in Rugao have been included in Jiangsu province's 2025 key project list, totaling an investment of 27.66 billion yuan ($3.77 billion).

The selected projects are production bases for Morimatsu advanced energy equipment, new transmission and transformation equipment, Scania commercial vehicles and powertrain, and the second phase of Rugao Jinying Industrial Park and Qianxin Yangtze River Estuary Logistics Hub.

In addition, the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission has released a list of key private investment projects for the year, 37 of which are in Nantong. Of those, seven are in Rugao, more than anywhere else in the city.

With a strong focus on project construction, Rugao continues to optimize its industrial structure, accelerate the gathering of innovation resources and striving to become a hub for advanced manufacturing. These efforts are expected to boost the city's industrial competitiveness and strengthen its position in the region's economic landscape.
