Despite frigid weather conditions, the greenhouse of a Hai'an flower company's farm has recently showcased a vibrant array of blooming flowers.

Among them, cineraria, a type of chrysanthemum, carries the meanings of joy, happiness, and prosperity in its floral symbolism. The flower serves as a favored ornamental during the New Year season, as Zhou Yixian, the farm manager, introduced.

Six thousand pots of cineraria, featuring a range of colors, are planted, each priced at an average of 5 yuan ($0.68). These are primarily sold to cities including Nantong, Yancheng, Taizhou, and Suzhou.

In addition to cineraria, there are also varieties such as hydrangea, crabapple, spider plant, gardenia, and others in the base greenhouse.

"Our company covers an area of about 70 mu (about 4.67 hectares), and we have now mastered mature flower cultivation technology and also have a stable customer base," said Zhou.

The farm has welcomed the peak selling season for the upcoming Spring Festival. The staff members will continue to carry out management tasks such as watering, fertilizing, and pest control to offer high-quality flowers to consumers.
