New premise for NUPT Nantong institute opens in Chongchuan
The new premise of the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NUPT) Nantong Institute was established on Dec 22.
At the event, several key platforms were unveiled, including the Jiangsu Provincial Graduate Excellence Workstation, the Hongxin Integrated Circuit Station of Chongchuan's Integrated Circuit (Electronic Information) Industry Chain, and the Nantong Branch of NUPT's New-Generation Information Technology Proof-of-Concept Center. Additionally, the first group of high-tech enterprises and innovation projects moved into the institute’s business incubator.
Established in 2016 in Nantong's Shibei Hi-tech Zone, the NUPT Nantong Institute specializes in integrated circuit packaging, testing, design, and processing services. It also offers services related to talent development, technological innovation, and commercialization of research results.
Over the past eight years, the institute has leveraged NUPT's strengths in academics, research, and talent to focus on breakthroughs in key technologies such as wide-bandgap semiconductors, power devices, and low-power, high-speed communication integrated circuits. It has also played a significant role in supporting local industries in Nantong and Chongchuan by providing services in talent training, technological development, research commercialization, business incubation, and industry support.
The institute currently hosts six national-level platforms, including the Nantong Branch of the National-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Radio Frequency Integration and Micro-Assembly Technology. To date, it has undertaken 13 provincial-level research projects, including key R&D initiatives for Jiangsu Province, and holds 130 authorized invention patents.
