Innovative healthcare initiative in Haimen increases access to medical services for employees
Haimen district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, is actively promoting the establishment of entrepreneur family doctor studios to provide convenient healthcare services for employees within their workplaces, aiming to increase the accessibility of high-quality medical resources.
The services offered through family doctor contracts include three main packages: basic public health services, health check-ups for employees, and personalized occupational health examinations. Haimen has already successfully set up 10 studios, achieving comprehensive coverage across the district's towns and sub-districts.
"We strategically locate each entrepreneur family doctor studio in areas convenient for employees. The medical team comprises general practitioners, public health physicians, nurses, and may also include rehabilitation therapists, psychological counselors, and traditional Chinese medicine practitioners to cater to the needs of different enterprises," explained Shen Bei, director of the Haimen district center for disease control and prevention.
To minimize disruption to daily business operations, family doctors typically provide home visits during lunchtime. Before each visit, they communicate with the enterprise to outline the service focus areas, with each visit lasting approximately two to three hours.
In the upcoming phase, Haimen will concentrate on the healthcare management needs of enterprises, continuously refining and optimizing the content of family doctor contract services to provide more convenient and personalized basic public health services for employees.
