Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has introduced provincial-level experts for the first time to assess and review business incubators, aiming to support the growth of more scientific and technological innovation enterprises.

Dongsheng Technological Innovation Park was established in 2019 in the Nantong Foreign Trade Center Park as a comprehensive provincial-level technology enterprise incubator. Over the past five years, it has attracted and nurtured over 100 enterprises spanning various fields, such as software development, textiles and apparel, household goods, electronics, equipment manufacturing, and new material research and development.

During the evaluation, experts identified common challenges facing the Dongsheng Technological Innovation Park, such as being a comprehensive incubator with a lack of specialization and incomplete services. Based on this, experts recommended leveraging the advantages of the park's foreign trade aggregation and cross-border e-commerce industrial park to transition towards becoming a specialized incubator. They also provided on-site guidance for this transformation.

So far, the Chongchuan district science and technology bureau has organized the first phase of assessments involving 12 incubators. The second phase is set to commence shortly.
