Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been advancing the integrated circuit industry in recent years, attracting numerous related major projects.

Among them is the advanced IC packaging and testing base invested by the Tongfu Microelectronics Co.

The project, located in the Nantong Shibei IC industrial park, serves as Tongfu's seventh production base. It will expand the company's packaging and testing capabilities and is expected to achieve annual sales of 3.4 billion yuan ($469.86 million).

Noting the advantages of operating in the industrial park, Ji Hongbin, the general manager of the base, noted the proximity of the base's partner, ACCESS Semiconductor Co, and added that they have developed assembly lines for product parts. "There are also many enterprises involved in spare parts and auxiliary materials operating in the park," Ji said.

To date, the standard factory building of 100,000 square meters in the first phase of the IC industrial park has been fully occupied by various projects. The construction of a factory building in the second phase of the industrial park is also underway.

At present, there are 45 enterprises above the designated size specializing in the IC industry, with industrial value reaching nearly 30 billion yuan.
