Rugao fosters skilled workforce through school-enterprise partnerships
Rugao in Nantong, Jiangsu has long prioritized the nurturing of skilled talent that match the demands of new quality productive forces.
The city currently boasts a vibrant landscape of school-enterprise cooperation that yields impressive results. For example, at Morimatsu (Jiangsu) Heavy Industry, seasoned craftsmen mentor apprentices on various production lines. According to Qiu Jimu, deputy head of production, these apprentices come from the "Morimatsu Class", a collaboration between the company and technical schools.
Rugao No 1 Secondary Specialized School, a highly skilled worker training school, has long partnered with Jiangsu Tangchen Automobile Parts Co Ltd to cultivate talent. The company donated 1.5 million yuan ($207,627) in equipment to the school, aiding in the upgrading of traditional training workshops. Students assimilate their knowledge in these workshops, applying it more effectively in practice.
To develop effective curricula and improve teaching, the school also encourages its teachers to work alongside experienced workers at companies to understand modern production techniques. This engagement further enhances the teachers' professional competence, teaching abilities, and overall quality.
