Rugao companies embrace smart, green transformation

Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu, is incentivizing companies to update their equipment in order to drive traditional industries towards smart and green transformation.
Among Rugao's leading enterprises in the new materials industry, Jiangsu Baichuan High-Tech New Materials has long been committed to the research and production of various environmentally friendly and energy-saving chemical products. These products are widely used in aerospace, pharmaceuticals, household appliances, industrial equipment, and other industries, with the order volume increasing year by year.
According to Jiang Guoqiang, the company's director, mature technology, high added value of products, low energy consumption, and low pollution are all necessary if chemical enterprises are to achieve high-quality development. Jiang stated that the company will increase new equipment investment in line with technological improvement needs.

Headquartered in a small town of Rugao, MLily leads the country in memory foam mattresses. Ni Zhanggen, chairman of the company, attributes MLily's success to the introduction of smart equipment and systems. This innovation has increased the company's per capita output value by 30 percent and reduced waste to just one twenty-fifth of that produced by manual labor, said Ni.
