Construction begins on Rudong's new battery manufacturing facility
A groundbreaking ceremony for a semi-solid battery manufacturing facility took place in the Rudong Economic Development Zone (RDEDZ) on Jan 9.
The facility is being funded by China Machinery Industry Construction Group and Fujian Super Power New Energy, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($698.26 million). Covering an area of 600 mu (40 hectares), the project is expected to generate annual sales of about 9 billion yuan.
Fujian Super Power New Energy is a national and international leader in the production of ultra-large-capacity solid polymer lithium batteries.
The company's investment in RDEDZ reflects the county's efforts to promote the development of the new energy industry.
In his speech at the ceremony, Cai Dong, a member of the standing committee of the CPC Rudong County Committee, highlighted that the facility symbolizes significant trends in the new energy industry. He added that the facility will help drive industrial upgrade in Rudong and further solidify the county's pioneering position in the new energy sector.
