Rudong makes strides in rice industry
The national standardized production base for green food ingredients (specifically rice) in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province secured its place among the 30th group of national standardized production bases for green food ingredients for 2023.
Covering an expansive area of 273,000 mu (18,200 hectares), the base in Rudong spans nine towns and subdistricts including Shuangdian, Chahe, and Xindian, as well as eight leading provincial and municipal-level rice processing enterprises like Nantong Dongsheng Rice Industry Co Ltd.
Rudong consistently maintains a rice cultivation area of over 875,000 mu and an annual output of more than 550,000 metric tons. The county is currently home to 36 certified green food rice enterprises.
The establishment of the national standardized production base signifies a pivotal step forward for Rudong's green food industry, paving the way for a new direction emphasizing standardized production, large-scale growth, brand promotion, and industrial advancement.
Furthermore, this shift will enable the county's agricultural sector to transition from a focus on quantity to brand superiority, making sustainable development a driving force behind rural revitalization.
Looking ahead, Rudong is set to elevate its standardized production practices, nurture leading enterprises, and strengthen supply chain connections to further bolster its rice industry.
