As of Dec 25, the Hai'an Logistics Base situated within the Haian Commercial and Logistics Industry Park, achieved a milestone by exceeding an annual freight volume of 2 million metric tons, doubling figures from three years earlier.

At present, there are an average of 2.5 sea-rail trains, comprising 107 carriages, operating daily between Hai'an and both Shanghai and Ningbo ports, with 836 trains dispatched this year transporting 57,000 standard containers.

In alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative, the base launched the Hai'an to ASEAN cross-border train service, which was integrated into the national railway schedule in the fourth quarter of 2021.

In response to challenges like insufficient overseas orders, dramatic drops in shipping fees, and difficulties in operating Vietnam-bound trains, the base initiated services like the Hai'an to Laos cross-border trains and connected trains to Moscow. This effort resulted in 100 trains with 7,000 standard containers, covering a distribution range of 250 kilometers and goods worth 15 billion yuan ($2.1 billion).
