Rapid development in wind power boosts new energy sector in RDEDZ
In the first 10 months of this year, the wind power industry in Rudong Economic Development Zone, Nantong, Jiangsu province, experienced remarkable growth and propelled the overall development of the new energy sector.
The taxable sales of the entire new energy industry in the region surpassed 8 billion yuan ($1.12 billion) during the period.
The wind power industry in the zone encompasses the entire value chain, including the manufacturing of production equipment, research and development of wind power technology, construction, testing, operation and maintenance of wind farms.
Crucial to the rapid development of the wind power industry in Rudong is the lifting and installation process, and leading the way in this domain is Jiangsu Shenlong Engineering Technology Co Ltd, a prominent company located in the zone.
Since securing the contract for the nation's first wind power franchise project, the company has installed over 300 wind farms across the country.
"Recently, we have won contracts for the installation of six wind farms. We have pioneered the use of a 3,000-metric-ton all-terrain crane, giving a significant boost to the construction progress," said Qiu Yongru, chairman and general manager of Jiangsu Shenlong.
Despite a slowdown in wind farm construction projects this year, the company won more bids than ever before and is anticipating 30-percent year-on-year growth in total annual revenue.
