3 Haimen companies earn provincial recognition

Three companies in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, have been shortlisted as green enterprises, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment recently announced.
The three companies are China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) Co, Wisdom Pharmaceutical Co, and Easpring Material Technology Co, which have made significant strides in the efficient utilization of resources and strict protection of the ecological environment.
Mo Gang, a technical staff member at Merchants, said his company has adopted energy-saving and environmentally-friendly technologies such as dual-fuel main engines and auxiliary engines, and bubble drag reduction, and has developed the world's largest LNG transport ship and car transport ship, which can use various environmentally-friendly fuels such as LNG and methanol.
Mo added that his company will develop ships powered by ammonia energy, aiming to achieve zero emissions.
Zou Ping, general manager of Wisdom, said that his company has in recent years invested over 100 million yuan ($13.67 million) to build facilities for dealing with emissions, waste water, and photovoltaic power generation.
Xiong Wei, general manager of Easpring, noted that his company has this year installed waste water recycling and treatment facilities that can deal with 300 metric tons of waste water per day.
