Thrilling consumer festival kicks off in Chongchuan
A series of consumer-focused activities kicked off on Aug 18 at the North Gateway Jiujiu Plaza in Chongchuan district, Nantong, Jiangsu province. The initiative aims to establish distinct commercial blocks and invigorate commercial areas in the district.
The event is also part of efforts made by Chongchuan to advance the integration of culture, commerce, and tourism, as well as boost local nighttime economic activities.
Making use of an exhibition space spanning nearly 5,000 square meters, the event features nine sections, including automotive showcases, cosplay, cultural collections, beer tastings, sports, performances, intangible cultural heritage displays, culinary delights, and a CIIE products exhibition. It is scheduled to last until Sept 3.
The cultural collections market starting from Aug 18 includes the first domestic market for the China International Import Expo and features nearly 100 specialty products from over 10 countries and regions, allowing visitors to savor global culinary delights, according to Cao Yufei, general manager of North Gateway Jiujiu Co Ltd.
In addition, the event showcases over 10 Chinese intangible cultural heritage products, including Nantong's renowned blue calico prints.
During the event, the Chongchuan bureau of culture and tourism is teaming up with the bureau of commerce to introduce the 2023 Chongchuan consumption card for travel and accommodation. This card integrates benefits from 30 local hotels and over 10 well-received local tourist attractions, aiming to propel consumption in Chongchuan's tourism sector.
