Cultural and tourism carnival offers Tongzhou residents artistic feast
The three-day 2023 Nantongzhou Cultural and Tourism Carnival, held in Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, came to a close on July 23.
The carnival featured three dedicated shows for artistic performances and a series of cultural and tourism activities.
On July 21, a musical performance, the first dedicated show of the carnival, invited four renowned domestic bands to perform.
Despite a sudden rainstorm causing a one-hour delay to the scheduled music performance, the show was still highly praised by the live audience.
The second event took place on July 22, featuring song and dance performances, skits, and theatrical performances.
The third event, held on July 23, included traditional Chinese crosstalk performances featuring renowned comedic actors such as Gong Hanlin, Gao Xiaopan, and Chen Hanbo.
A representative from Inner Mongolia demonstrated the art of Humai, a throat-singing technique that has been handed down over hundreds of years, allowing the live audience to appreciate artistry from different regions.
