Tyson Nantong smart factory was put into operation in Haimen district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on June 16.
The 300-million-yuan ($41.83 million) facility, which will have multiple deep processing production lines for pre-fried chicken, fully-cooked chicken, beef patties, and prefabricated dishes, is expected to produce 40,800 metric tons of cooked food per year.
The smart factory will adopt intelligent manufacturing equipment to advance the digital transformation of its existing facilities and will be key to building a complete industrial chain that covers breeding, slaughtering, processing and selling.
The factory is the third smart factory Tyson has built in China following the smart factories in Zibo, Shandong province and in Xiaogan, Hubei province, and Tyson will take advantage of Haimen’s location and favorable business environment to conduct its import and export businesses with Hong Kong and Japan.
Founded in 1935 in the United States, Tyson Foods Inc is a globally leading manufacturer and supplier of chicken, beef, pork and processed food.
