Haimen secures one integrated circuit project
Wuhan University signed an agreement to build an integrated circuit research center in Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on June 13.
Guo Xiaomin, Party secretary of Haimen, outlined the district's geographical location, social and economic progress, and transportation infrastructure at the signing ceremony.
Guo added that ICs are an important part of Haimen's new-generation information technology industry and a pillar sector in the district and expressed her hope that the research center will play a key role in attracting high-quality projects to the district and cultivating more high-tech enterprises.
Liu Wei, assistant to head of the School of Microelectronics at Wuhan University, said that his school will provide more professional talents to Haimen to bolster its semi-conductor sector.
Both sides have also set up a semi-conductor service platform during the event, which will be crucial to expediting the commercialization of the latest scientific and technological achievements in the district, said local authorities.
