Shigang makes strides in boosting high-quality development
Shigang town in Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has made strides in boosting high-quality development in recent years.
As part of its efforts, it has been working to bring in many new projects.
The production base of Nantong Threecon Capacitor Co Ltd, which is currently under construction in the town, is expected to generate an annual taxable turnover of 300 million yuan ($42.47 million) and pay 17 million yuan in taxes after completion.
In addition, the town has set up special teams to provide solutions for local enterprises and guarantee progress on projects.
The town has also made efforts to boost the development of the agriculture industry.
Two demonstration farmlands, each spanning over 5,000 mu (333.33 hectares), and more than 30 centralized seedling cultivation sites have been established in the town, laying a solid foundation for the development of the rice industry.
The local government has also been actively promoting the automation transformation of agricultural processing enterprises.
Located in the Shigang technology industrial zone, Yuwan Rice Industry Co Ltd has realized full automation in rice processing.
The town is currently home to 73 large-scale agricultural projects, one national-level demonstration cooperative, and eleven provincial-level demonstration family farms.
Due to the rapid development of the agricultural industry, the town has been recognized as a provincial-level industrial base for green, high-quality agricultural products and a provincial demonstration town for mechanization.
