Qidong agriculture sees rapid growth in 2022

Qidong's grain planting area in 2022 totaled 1.21 million mu (80,666 hectares), generating a total output of 330,000 metric tons.
The planting area for summer grain was 440,000 mu, and there was a yield of 100,000 tons, while that of autumn grain was 770,000 mu, with a yield of 230,000 tons.
Data showed that the city's grain area last year was the highest in nearly 15 years.
Last year, the city planted 690,000 mu of vegetables, with a total output of 1.21 million tons, generating an output value of 2.6 billion yuan ($385,019), while total fishery output was 330,000 tons, generating an output value of 6.5 billion yuan.
Ninety-nine percent of 3,485 family farms in the city achieved profitability in 2022. The collective incomes of villages increased by more than 55 million yuan.
In addition, most farmers benefitted from land transfers, receiving more than 1.2 billion yuan from rent and work.
