Renovated night market becomes a hit in Chongchuan
The night market on Shiqu street in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has emerged as a popular gourmet destination, local media reported.
Since its opening in August, the night market has received over 50,000 people.
The crossroads of Chong'an street and Jianghuai street where the night market was previously located was plagued with issues such as poor sanitation and traffic congestion. As such, the district authorities planned to revamp the night market.
Following the revamp, the night market is now home to 35 food carts.
Authorities have mandated that all vendors in the night market possess the relevant health certificates, and all dining cars have been equipped with oil fume purifiers.
The night market is open from 6: 00 pm to 5: 00 am the next day, and has an average daily visitor volume of 2,000 people.
