The two sessions－the annual meetings of the National People's Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference – are currently underway in Beijing.

NPC deputies from Haimen district, Nantong are fulfilling their duties by submitting several motions concerning economic and social development.

NPC deputy Lu Yaping, chairwoman of Haimen-based trade company Ya Ping Group, submitted a motion focusing on strengthening the management of online sales through live streaming.

Lu suggested that more efforts are needed to optimize the monitoring system of e-commerce platforms and ensure that people involved in the industry strictly abide by industrial rules and regulations.

She also stressed that live streaming platforms should take on the responsibility of managing anchors and that authorities should intensify efforts to crack down on counterfeit and shoddy products.
