Nantong Lebainian Health Town is located in Duntou town, Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province.
The scenic spot covers an area of about 200 hectares and has received 5 billion yuan ($333.5 million) in investment. It is the largest tourism project in Hai’an in terms of area and opened its doors on Oct 1, 2019.
The area is rich in water resources, with islands and lakes scattered throughout, and has a high green coverage and mild climate.
The town has made full use of the wetland area to develop a resort specializing in health in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Several sections are planned focusing on health culture, medical herbs, accommodation, hot springs, family farms and tourist services.
The medical herb garden is home to numerous plants which are not only beautiful, but also valuable medically, while the bonsai garden boasts rare trees from around the world.
Chinese yews, which have existed for two and a half million years, are planted at the residential area, producing "air vitamins" – anion and active oxygen – to ensure high air quality.
The town also offers various choices for recreation, including fishing, water and land trekking, mini golf, camping, rock climbing, and horse riding.
