Qidong issues new talent policies
Qidong in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has recently put forward 28 new policies involving talent introduction, talent cultivation and enterprise innovation, in order to provide talents with more support and encouragement.
In 2019, Qidong attracted over 350 high-level talents, up 80 percent year-on-year. Nine talents and two entrepreneurship teams in Qidong won provincial awards in 2019, which set a new record in the province.
According to the new policies, talents and teams in Qidong can receive 120 million yuan ($17 million) at most, and talent projects included in national lists can receive 3 million yuan at most. Enterprises and institutes that make great contributions in talent introduction and cultivation can receive up to 1 million yuan.
Services in working permission, immigration, residency and children's education will be provided to outstanding talents from overseas. All talents introduced into Qidong can receive a living allowance and a housing subsidy.
Local graduates who decide to start a business can receive supporting loans up to 150,000 yuan. Venture investment institutions can also receive rewards for their investment in high-end enterprises.
