Online and offline tunnels have been established between Chongming, Shanghai, and Qidong, Nantong, Jiangsu province to provide cross-regional public services.
A total of 30 processes can now be handled between the two regions, mainly involving the registration of enterprises and the issuing of production permits for industrial products.
The cross-regional public service system achieves data-sharing through the internet and facial recognition.
For example, if a Chongming resident wants to start a company in Qidong, he/she can use the online Jiangsu public service system to deal with administrative processes at home.
Many staffed service windows have also been set up in various communities, allowing residents to deal with administrative processes without traveling far.
