People take boat rides on the Longyou River in Rugao on June 5 to taking the beautiful scenery. More than 400 celebration activities have been held in Rugao ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival, including a contest of reciting Chinese classic poetry, cultural performances, making incense bags and making zongzi, pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in reed leaves.
