Tongzhou district held a conference to give awards to 10 laborers who have made great contributions to the development of Nantong.

The conference was held on April 28 before the upcoming International Labor Day.

Among the ten model workers, there are Wu Xu, traditional furniture making artist who won the first prize at Macao International Expo and Cao Haizhong, who is crowed as “Grape King” and tried planting more than 200 categories of grapes.

Chen Yonghong, party secretary of district committee, urged all people to learn from model workers and promote economic development.

He noted that all local governments should focus more on laborers and try to improve their sense of gain.
